Two button quails using a silkie as a cushion right after moving them to a tempoerary brooder
The whole family dried out and already making a mess the second day We keep them at home now so they have a very pet-like brooder.
Sorry for the quality but it's almost impossible to take a decent picture with those little devils jumping around like crazy!
Btw. has anyone had any problems with keeping quail chicks together with silkies for the first two weeks (born at the same time)? That's what we're planning to do and as there was some toe-pecking yesterday I though I would split them up just in case any of them could get gurt, but they seem to be doing perfectly fine today (maybe the silkies understood the buttons are not worms.. ) and if there's any teasing it's the little buttons jumping on and pecking at the silkies.
And I just love the sight when they sleep together, a little quail slipping under a bigger silkie's wing
