I separated gloria (1 year old welsh harlequin) two days ago because she wasn’t moving around much and I had another separated due to bumblefoot. She has been prefers to stand in one spot (usually the pool) I thought she was egg bound maybe and if she hadn’t shown improvement by today I was going to treat her as such.

This morning I went to let everyone out and noticed some blood by the pop door and something hanging from Gloria’s vent. My first thoughts are lash egg or prolapse. It’s two or three inches long. I didn’t want to pull on it in case it is a prolapse.

She’s not weak but she’s not active either. Easy to catch, not like her. I’ve now separated her from the bumblefoot duck. There was no egg overnight so I guess lash egg is on the table.

What do I do?! :hit

How is she doing now? Do your best to keep her comfortable while we wait on more expert assistance.
It looks to me like a vent prolapse, but I've never seen one like this.
Do you have some vetericyn, and vaseline to hand?
Do you have a local avian vet who can see her urgently?

It must be a prolapse but I haven't ever seen one like this either. I'd let her wash good then use some Ky jelly or other lubricant and keep it moist until we know for sure this is a prolapse.

I agree
I haven’t dealt with one myself but it does look like one
I don’t think you should treat just yet for egg bound as the calcium makes them push and I worry that could cause more issues ?
Hopefully the others jump on soon and can guide you better

I have her in a dog kennel in a quiet space on towels (with a poultry heating pad). She is/will be getting two warm baths per day. I treat the prolapse after that once clean. I gave her calcium citrate with eggs, she’s not interested in eating or laying down.

From what I can tell if it IS prolapse helping to solve the underlying problem will help or solve the obvious one.

I’m just trying to keep her comfortable.

I've seen quite a few prolapses but not one like this. Baths and some type of lube ky jelly, vaseline just to keep it moist so it doesn't dry out. Thankfully I have never had to deal with one here.
