URGENT DUCKLING CANT STAND UP.

we are going to the store soon so I will make sure to pick up betadine. What should I do with it. Also I put him in the incubator. Will it live
I would leave him in the incubator for another 24 hours so that he doesn't start crawling the poop and food in the brooder. Best to keep his umbilicus clean, so keep him on a soft, clean and dry towel.

Do you have any wound cleaners like betadine or chlorhexadine? Do not use peroxide or alcohol.

also, should I put the incubator to brooder temp

Quote: Mix Betadine solution with *distilled* water so that it looks like tea then dip his umbilicus in it a few times a day. Lower incubator temp to 90 degrees and see how he does. If he seems too hot, lower it. If he seems too cold, raise it a little.

I checked in with the feed stores near me. No poultry drench I'm using Sav a chick. He drank a bit. I'm praying that he lives
We're all pulling for the little one, you've gotten some good advise and alot to take in but keeping the little one as clean as possible is very important now so incubator is the place for it on clean towels.

Keep us updated and remember only tiny amounts of water with the sav a chick in it either dribble along bill or just tiny amounts right inside the bill never down the throat.

Every time it tries to stand up on it's on? have you been able to get it to take some sips of water. The save a chick should help to give it some strength. I am going to be honest with you there is always a chance something else is going on too. Right now we can only wait. Keep it as stable as you can try not to stress it any by trying to get it to do things it can't yet, Hopefully like everyone has said now it is just time and hopefully by tomorrow you'll see a big difference in them.

It's also very important you clean the last one to hatch's umbilicus they are at a real risk for infection when they hatch like this.
