URGENT DUCKLING CANT STAND UP.

just woke up, it's a Christmas miracle! He is doing great he can walk, steady himself and eat. The other one in the incubator though, dose it need water
Yes try giving the one in the bator some save a chick water and some food[make sure the one in the bator can hold it's head up to drink you don't want it to lay it's head in water and drown!!

What great news!!! Praise the Lord !!

Can you post a picture of him?

sorry, but I'm at Christmas brunch. I can't take a pic but I can Teel you what it looked like. It looked like a pea sized yolk sac that looked somewhat dry. Sorry, that's the best I can describe it. I put water in there for it just in case

Did you fix a towel or something for it to lay in right side up[or normal position] have you been giving sips of save a chick water? At this point support and prayer is about all you can do. Also be careful when they can't hold up their heads they can drown in the water bowl.

Great news about the yolk sac I wouldn't put it with the others till it has fallen off and no chance of it getting contaminated [the scab has fallen off]

When you have time please post a pic of the lil one having trouble holding up it's head.
how long will it take until, the sac falls off

I hatched 12 welsh harlequins in an incubator, but one came out of the shell with a bloody lump on top of its head. We are going on day 3. Not sure if this is relevant, but it was larger than the others. I runs and falls. It's legs are spread apart facing outward often. I have never seen it try to eat or drink. I force feed it. It runs around and stumbles. Attaching pics.

@mcw1906 How is your lil duckling?

Does it look like this? -Kathy

I think your taking a big chance if you let him in the brooder yet. that could get pulled off by just moving around or chewed off by another one of the ducklings and bleeding start. I'd keep treating with the iodine/water and giving it more time to dry up and fall off on it's own. You could put it into a separate plastic shoe box inside the brooder so it can at least hear and see the other ducklings.. as long as it can eat and drink and stay warm..
