Urgent Goose Help needed!

How exactly do I pull the egg out? I know your suppose to but gloves on and lubricate them. Once I do that where am I suppose to go in the vent?

Just in..and feel around. I don't think you going to be able to get an egg from inside her if it is up inside her oviduct too far. Also, prior to probing inside her gently apply pressure on her outsides and see if you can feel any lumps. That may help direct you. If you have an avian vet around..you may want to consider calling them...and/or taking her.

You don't want to accidentally hurt her. Tough spot to be in. So sorry you and your goose have to go through this.

Also is giving a warm bath a safer alternative for someone who has never done this before or does this only work in earlier cases?

Thank you for the directions I will be attempting this now. Also I've tried to contact a Avian vet but there is none anywhere near me.

. Hopefully this will work

I'd try the warm bath first. It definitely can't hurt anything.

I think I'll try the bath first and if nothing has changed by in a few hours I will attempt to pull out the egg.

Okay I'm off to give her a warm bath. I'll keep everyone updated with the progress.

The warm bath was a success!

. She's now able to walk slightly. It's not her normal walk but this looks like she has a good chance to recover.

Hi Keven, How is her prolapse? I just went through this with two of my Saxony ducks, and they recovered. I will see if I can post my thread. It's rather lengthy, but I posted information on how I treated them.

Let me go find it real fast.
