I have hen who is sneezing and congested sounding. Any tips on what to do? She is still active no droopy eyes or snotty nose. I would like to treat her holistically!

I would start off with some antibotics, I would give her some Tylan 50 that can be purchased at Tractor Supply. check her in three days if still then she has something else going on. But I would start there first.

Is she wheezing or rattling when she breaths? Poultry respiratory diseases often have mild symptoms, at first, and if treated properly chickens will usually recover from them just fine. They are viral which means antibiotics won't kill the disease, BUT, the problem is how easily these diseases morph right into pneumonia and secondary bacterial infections. That is what will most often kill the bird rather then the disease itself. That is why antibiotic's are needed. I would suggest perhaps Tylan 50. I believe the dose for oral administration is .5 cc per day for 5 days.

Apple cider vinegar in the water will boost her immunity (1 T per gallon), but that's better preventative than treatment - all my ladies get it in their water every day.

I'm all-in when it comes to holistic/natural remedy, but what seems like a simple cold can wipe out your whole flock if not nipped in the bud.
