URGENT HELP NEEDED FOR DUCK

i would probably Isolate the bird from the flock and place it in a safe, comfortable, warm location (your own duck "intensive care unit") with easy access to water and food and Limit the stress

i think the most important thing is just to keep away from any stress.

Tried separating him but he doesnt wanna leave his flock. The three of them are too attached. Decided to keep them in today in a safe room.

Where are you located in the world? If it's cold outside, it's usually advised to bring them in a darkened quiet room where their bodies don't have to do the work in regulating his temp, but you don't want them to overheat either. You'll want to offer some water. With time you'll light the room more and more. Once he's drinking water like normal, start offering food.

Hes eating kind of but not himself. I put him in my bathroom outside on fresh grass and water easy to access

I agree everything shows signs of shock. You have gotten good advice so far and I would follow it. Also, I would not expect him to eat anything today, but I would weigh him tomorrow if he still doesn't eat. In case he stops eating too long you will know when you need to step in and possibly tube feed him. But hopefully tomorrow he will feel safe enough to eat.

Also it is possible he has an injury and hurt himself when running. Tomorrow would be a good time to access that and see if he has a limp or parts of his leg feel warm.

Right now just keep him calm and safe, and be patient.

The other ducks actually hurdling around him and trying to be near him which they never do.

I would bring him inside and give him sugar water you can also give him a warm bath. Definitely keep him inside and watch him really close. It seems like he might've got stepped on be the people, ducks can not be chased. Sorry about your duck.

It sounds like it is very possible that he sustained an injury. When animals panic, they can often hurt themselves since they are not thinking clearly. It could be a neck, wing and leg injury he got. I would still give him sometime to see how he his doing tomorrow. Rest is the best way to heal an injury, as well as shock.

Here is a link for tube feeding. I wouldn't consider doing at this time, but these supplies are good to have on hand when you need them. They can sometimes be difficult to get, so I would recommend getting the supplies now.

I would also measure out his food so you know how much he should be eating and compared to how much he is eating. Ducks should eat about 0.4lbs of food day.

I wish people would understand you can’t chase them like that! One day someone left our back door open when I had relatives over and ALL the chickens were in the kitChen, so my family thinking they were helping started chasing them down and they were flying everywhere I was so scared they would break their legs. i shouted at my family to stop and leave the room and I calmly escorted my chickens back outside. I felt bad for shouting at them but my babies! Lol

It is unfortunate, but remember these were children who were chasing the ducks. I understand the anger, but that won't help. These children do not likely know any better. They need to be taught why you don't treat an animal as a toy. This is a great learning opportunity for them to see the consequences of their actions. Hopefully this duck can teach them to treat animals with respect, so others don't have to suffer like he did. Personally, I think there is no better way then having them help care and rehabilitate the duck back to health.

I am feeding him myself after every 3 hrs. Hes eating only rice and peas. Not his feed. Hes trying to move around but failing. He walks with complete lack of balance.
