Unfortunately, she was mostly paralyzed when I got home, couldn’t even sit… refused food and water and seemed to be on the verge of death. I felt it best to not let her continue to suffer.

Sorry for your loss. Could she have been bullied or too meek to get to food and water? It is always good to have at least 2 feeding stations for the meeker chickens. If you would like to contact your state vet for a necropsy or testing, keep the body cold, and and call the nearest on this list:

Thank you all for the information and advice. I did add vitamins to the flock’s water in case there is any deficiency.
