I have a peahen who has laid 11 eggs so far,i've now made a nest for it but my peahen doesn't sit on it..or do i have to make a suitable nest for it or specific nest? What is fertile eggs?,i don't know what fertile eggs are. My peahen is on my farm for 6 years . I just don't know how to make her sit on her eggs..Any help with pics would be helpful..And ive done all my best or should i force them to sit on the eggs? These are the pic of its egg but she doesn't sit on it ...I tried hatching them on hen several times it was failed and i cant afford incubator

Where are you located? I bet you could find someone with an incubator nearby who would be willing to hatch your eggs ...maybe for half the chicks?

You really only know (that I know of) if an egg is fertile if you open it up and see the whiteish bullseye on the yoke. For some reason I can't post pitcures right now... but google it and a bunch come up.

If your pea hen doesn't have a male, the eggs will be infertile, and will never hatch.

Your hen will make her own nest and lay there. She won't sit the eggs until she's laid all she wants. If she sits sooner and they begin to develope, then she leaves the nest and they chill, the eggs will die, so the wise hens keeps her butt off them until shes good and ready to stay there. Then, she will sit, hardly leaving and then only very quickly and returning w/i 15 minutes usually, until the offspring hatch.

I have peacock male and peafowl female both in cage...
I can let them go free cause these months when she lays eggs we plant vegetables on the farm and before that we let them go free they have eaten or destroyed every plant and vegetables...
We have a cat trouble too in here so when we let them free then we again cage them on dawn and a person like me or my workers watch them so a cat don't show up....
I have tried incubator but it didn't worked too.
Last time i putted 4 of her eggs on a hen after 28 days it became rotten when we broke the eggs to see if its was embroy death or not it turned out to be nothing just york like normal.
Peafowl aint scared of any human contact too but the peacock goes wild everytime some one sees it...
Before that i picked up all eggs as soon she laid them then i tired web to know if peafowl sits on her eggs or not then afterwards i made a nest for it and putted the eggs in front of it still its 3rd day not a sign she will sit or not

I keep the peafowl out of my garden using an eletric fence and have no problems with them or any other birds that range here.
You can not make a bird go broody it has to be their idea, if you can not incubate them then why not sell them to someone that can, at least you can get a bit of money for them rather than them going to waist.
Where are you located?
See them looking at the hot wire , they know it might be on and will not cross it, i do not even leave it on all the time, usually i turn it on at night to keep the wild critters for getting in there.
