Hi all, just found my young (hatched first week of April) hen looking like this. Is this a prolapsed vent? If so, is it best to cull?

Separate her so she won’t be pecked to death. She may have already been pecked. Clean her vent area with a shallow warm soak. Dry her off, and keep the red prolapsed tissue moist with honey or ointment so it does not dry out. A human calcium tablet or Tums given orally may help if she has an egg stuck or has been straining. A newer picture after cleaning her up may help.

Sadly we cannot catch her. We are just going to have to wait until she goes into the coop for the night.
