Urgent Help Requested! I think there is a Pekin Duck Egg in my small lake.

Ok, so this has been fascinating....lol. I just saw them in the area of the egg. they were diving down towards it....but I was not close enough to see what they were doing. Is it possible they were turning the egg? there is a decent incline....so is it possible they cannot get the egg out of the water?

No. They won't go back for an egg, even if it had been developing

Egg shells are porous otherwise a baby duck would not be able to get oxygen. Water has already gone in that egg. Even if you fished it out and put it in an incubator it would not succeed. She will lay more (usually one a day), hopefully not all in the water.

so i feel like the right thing is to just leave it alone. On the other hand....I REALLY want to try to save this egg....lol
Yeah it really doesn't work like that, there is nothing to save. And unless you already have an incubator on hand, even if it was a good egg there is nothing you could do. Just leave it, especially if they aren't your ducks there is no reason for you to try and make more ducks.
