So I went down to the chicken coop this morning and found a chick outside one of the nest boxes, I thought it was dead except it moved its legs. But it appears to have been kick out of the next and the skin pick off its back

The mother isn't the one who did this, it was a Barred Rock that kick her off the nest.

But what do I do? The chick was freezing, but it is now under a heat lamp wrapped in a damp wash cloth, so I "clean" it without actually touching it. So I don't hurt it :/

Its skin is missing, but they must have like a membrane or something, because nothing is spilling out.

Here is the leg skin, because I originally thought just the fluff was picked off.

The baby looks like he hatched this morning.

if it hatched this morning what might have happened is the egg didnt get turned enough so part of the skin stuck to the egg. the mama will push the shells out from underneath her check and see of anything is wrong with the egg. the mom might have pushed her out because she knew it wasnt gonna make it :(

No the momma got kick off her nest by another hen.. I think that the other hen kicked the baby out :/

Right now we don't have another place to put the broodies.

Get little bird cages if you can, put those over broodies in emergencies. Keeps out rats and other birds, keeps mums'n'bubs safe when you have no other options ready.
