He is mostly blind and cannot aim for food... I'm going to contact the local sanctuaries today as I don't think he can survive in the wild and I don't think there are many that is willing to take a special needs chicken. I feel so heartbroken, I am so attached to this guy....

Is he a house chicken? I don’t think someone will take him from you if he’s inside and not a nuisance.
 
I'm still very much in denial. I noticed his comb growing recently but brushed it off as well. This is definitely a cockerel, right? Is there any way it could be a pullet?
