I orderd a pair of javas from This company. The man said that th male had sprained his leg and that the vet said it would be ok in a few weeks. I just got the birds in... the males leg looks horrid... not like it was sprained, but born this way... Is there anything I can do? Im heading to the vet in 2 hours... thats when my vet will be in... Please advise... Im so angry that I was not CLEARLY explained the condition of my JAVA...

Please see photo. The Male is not turned.. .He is facing forward and his legs are facing side ways. he has trouble walking. I dont know how he make it to this age...

Please avise on what I can do to help him.

Seen that before. I would give Four Oaks the opportinity to rectify the situation but he already has not represented the bird properly. The deformity looks very permanent to me (but I have been wrong before). Did he sell you the bird at a reduced rate? Keep us informed, and let us know what the vet said. Vitamin C helped one of my birds with leg issues but not that severe. I hope the bird can live a comfortable life, but reproduction may not be possible or desirable.

I fully agree. With any of the green birds, this does sem to be a common problem due to their fast growth and long legs, from what I have been told by many, it's usually genetic from weak breeding. If this is the case, probley wont be much that can be done for him, sure hate it. Let us know what the vet says....

I just got back from the VET. The vet says that he will have a leg problem and may not breed... She is not sure if he was born this way of if something happened to him. She said that as long as he has access to food and water... he will grow up, but she recommends sending him back. She doubts that he will correct his leg in time.

I callled The people and he said to Send back the java Green male 1st week of January and he will send me a new male from his 2010 cluch. He said that his vet told him the bird is fine... but I dont think so. Its better than nothing... Im looking into getting a pair from a different breeder so that the blood line will be different. He still is a magnificant animal.

I sold the pair of Java's with the male in question on this post. First of all this is not a photo of the peacock I sold to the poster on this website. A bird hatched with defects like the photo from the poster would have never made it to the brooder. I've attached a photo of the peacock I had emailed to this poster before he purchased them. Please note the color differences from the two photos. The pair were 3 1/2 months old when the photo was taken, he received the pair of Java's 17 days later. Java's do not get this type of color in 17 days usually not until they are approximately 1 1/2 years old. If you have any questions please email me. http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j198/2fast4u10/2009hatchJava-1.jpg

I understand your position as a breeder... and I dont see what the problem is for me asking for help or advice in this matter... I have nothing to gain by making false post... I dont know why your taking this personal. I dont make rash choices... I ask for advice and get all the info before making a decision.

I wish you no harm... I understand your looking for a WAY OUT of provinding me with a replacement... If you honestly dont want to send me a replacement then you have made your decision and there is nothing I can do...

I learned a long time ago about good business practice...

If you feel that the bird I posted is not your bird... so be it. I cant not force anyone to take a side... I have never altered the truth, or manipulated any information to show in my favor.. I have always taken responsiblity for my actions and my animals...

Others should do the same...

If you did not want to send me a replacement... you should have said so from the get go instead of tring to make me the bad guy... Ive asked for advice... and everyone told me the same thing...

All I can say is, anyone looking to make a purchase... no matter how hard you try... many will still get cheated, and its a risk everyone takes from purchasing online.

P.S. I never complained on the female you sent me either... she arrive featherless on her entire back.. she just got back all her colors.
