URGENT! NEED ADVICE

I have a 23 day egg, pipped a couple of hours ago and I didn't know as I didn't want to open the bator. I finally got anxious and looked...it doesn't have an egg tooth!
I carefully zipped around the shell, left the membrane intact...chick doesn't seem to be panting (I'm assuming their beak is open for that) but I don't know if I should just carefully open the membrane all the way around ?!!!!
Or let it be, and if so for how long?
I've got a wet cloth around the membrane where I zipped.
Help, please if you can,
