Hi! Last night as we were candling my child bumped me and i dropped Pekin egg that was on day 22. The whole skinny side of egg and upwards cracked right off but membrane was intact: I could see the baby moving inside. Decided to put back in incubator and this morning baby was still moving inside. Should I leave it alone and pray for the best?! Please advise. I have 5 total eggs in there. Thanks in advance!!!

I've got a chick in the same predicament all I know to do is keep the humidity a little higher to keep that membrane moist. I did one time years ago dab olive oil on ones membrane to keep it lubricated. My incubators have vent holes so I taped a qtip onto a clothes hanger and reached in through that small hole and dabbed the membrane. It made it but mighta just been alot of luck involved.

What is around the egg?
Is it like a paper towel or something?
Don't let the turner turn the eggs anymore. I would just go into lockdown now. Up the humidity to 65-70%.
Keep a close eye on it, but don't touch it anymore.

I tried to do the wax gently with a q tip so any weird spots are wax. I felt too nervous to fully dip it
