Urgent! please help male with prolapse!!!

Okay. I looked it up. Says do not use on serious burns, animal bites or deep cuts or puncture wounds. But looking at the ingredients I don't see anyything that looks like it would be harmful. It looks like it is mostly petrolatum, and it contains no fragrance or dyes. I don't want to assume responsibility for this as I am not a vet. You are familiar with the product. I would say, use your own best judgment. Would you use it on yourself if you were the patient? You decide.

Other products you may have on hand, to use in an emergency if you dont have the others already listed above: coconut oil, vegetable oil, ky jelly. Anything like that, just to keep the tissue from drying out. It may be too swollen, to stay inside right now, when you push it back in. You're doing good, just keep him isolated and calm until someone with more expertise can help you. Be sure to post pictures, that will help then to better help you more quickly. Epsom salt in lukewarm water, to soak his bum in, will also help with the swelling. Then gently wrap him in a towel and hold him until he is dry, do not rub him dry. :) 👍
The Epsom salts bath (warm, up to 20 minutes) will also help relieve constipation.

Oh and, after using Epsom salt soak, rinse with water before drying him off. You don't want the salt to dry on him and make things worse.
Thanks, Val.

Okay, great. You're doing great. Don't give him anything to eat so he doesn't have anything to poop. It's night and he doesn't need food and water anyway, turn off the lights and let him rest. You guys get some rest too. :hugs

he is doing okay and I appreciate the help! I think he'll be okay but it pops out every time he poops I guess we'll see.
I would remove any food for the night, and keep him on water with electrolytes in it. He should be able to rest and sleep several hours without the distraction of food, and will help his bum too. There are recipes online to make electrolyte water for chickens, if you dont have a powder form. Simple sugar, salt, baking soda, water. I forget the ratios.
