I just remembered a community I heard about that allowed horses but not poultry or other livestock which was really confusing because there aren’t many sounds that rank close to the piercing hellshriek of a mare in heat. There aren’t many animals as destructive as horses either so I don’t understand the thought processes going on there.

Haha I know! I have two mares, and they can be really loud, but they are boarded of course at a different area.

I don't really see my chinese goose as loud. Unless he's scared or gets picked up by one of my nephew's he is pretty quiet. Our rooster is way more noticeable.

Definitely introducing them young to the neighbours gets them attached. Maybe ask if they could babysit them in their own yard for an hour while you run to the store, my gosling will follow other humans if I am unavailable. That way you neigh our gets attached too.
