Urgent! Please help!!!Urban Environment with Two White Chinese Goslings

I know, waterfowl are very messy! This year has had so much poultry demand lol! I know of so many people getting ducks and chickens this year haha! Ducks seem like a good choice, they are quieter, that’s for sure lol 😆
Since there are no regs in place against geese you should be fine. And you say you already talked to your neighbors, who also have birds? That sounds like a wonderful plan! Get them on board with the idea of having geese next door now, while the geese are young, cute and fairly quiet, rather than waiting till they are older and louder to bring up the subject! 😉

Yeah, that would probably make the neighbors less annoyed haha! Thank you for the reply!!

Okay so we got two white Chinese goslings three weeks ago. I have read they are super duper loud. And I’m nervous we might have to get rid of them since we live in the city. We haven’t had any troubles with their chirping yet, but I’m worried about the honking and so far no one had been of any comfort to me. Everyone had said it’s a challenge to raise them in a backyard in the city. We don’t have a small backyard, it’s a good size, but we are quite close to the neighbors and I’m panicking of what they might think when they start honking and if they will report us. Everyone had been so depressing when they reply to me. 😩 we have an area they can go in to be locked in at night, maybe we need to do that idk. But please someone I’m so panicked and everything, they’ve already imprinted and I’m absolutely totally freaking out and idk, no one had been helpful to me really.
I don't really see my chinese goose as loud. Unless he's scared or gets picked up by one of my nephew's he is pretty quiet. Our rooster is way more noticeable.

I don’t know what the cc&r’s are in your neighborhood, I’ve heard some places will allow hens but not rooseters, I know roosters can be loud but honestly I think those rules are put in place by people who have never been around chickens because “the egg song” hens do isn’t exactly unnoticeable.
I know of one family on insta that sadly had to rehome their goose because they found out geese were banned by the community when their neighbors made a stink about it, they were allowed dogs, ducks, and hens but not geese. I get geese aren’t the quietest, but neither are barking dogs, or cockatoos, or demented children. Sadly there is a lot of hypocrisy in the world.

If it puts you more at ease the others who said you should talk to your neighbors are right, if they’re fine with it I doubt you’ll have issues regardless of cc&rs, and considering your neighbor has a turkey they sound like the right sort of people. Bird people are the only sane people.😂

I live here and people haven't had a problem with my pair of geese, mind you, they're Toulouse which are supposed to be quiet and docile anyway and they're not yet old enough to have developed loud honks....so we'll see.

I just remembered a community I heard about that allowed horses but not poultry or other livestock which was really confusing because there aren’t many sounds that rank close to the piercing hellshriek of a mare in heat. There aren’t many animals as destructive as horses either so I don’t understand the thought processes going on there.
