Wait, why 7 days of wazine? It's a one day treatment. And incidentally, you might try refilling the waterers more often. Leaving them causes biofilm inside which, although not visable, can cause disease.
I'm sure they're good and wormed now. /wink
You could technically do that every 2 months, but you'd only kill one type of worm. So follow up with a wet mash with fenbendazole sheep SafeGuard liquid 10% wormer. I can give you the recipe for that in 6 weeks or so. Wazine paralyzes and expels live round worm adults, and fenbendazole takes care of most of the rest including larvae so that they don't change into adults. Both have a good shelf life.
Save the wazine then for birds that fit any of the following conditions:
- The bird is thin or had diarrhea and you're going to worm it
- The bird or flock sheds any worms
- The bird is under four weeks of age (only use wazine unless otherwise directed).
- The bird has an unknown worming history - like new birds
- The bird has either a) not been wormed with a broad spectrum wormer in over 6 months, or it's been 2 months since your last Wazine treatment. If you did Broadspectrum, disregard b.
I'm glad to hear there's no more blood. Since you saw a worm, that's at least one adult roundworm that was paralyzed and expelled - no ova from her! Good job.
And also good on putting water outside - birds should always have water where they spend a lot of their time.
