Urgent. Several chickens in flock having the same illness, one has died.

The dose of undiluted Corid that the vet ordered is fine. It is hard to overdose. Let us know how they get along. If you lose another, sending the body to the state vet would be a good idea. It has to be kept cold, but not frozen. They are open M-F. Here is a link to your state vet:

Thank you.

The chicken that died. I am sure it was a coincidence but she dies just minutes after giving some Epson salt water. Mixed to a rate found on this site. 1 tsp to 1 cup i believe. She did not aspirate i am sure. I am a paramedic, does not make me an expert but I do have experience. Is Epson salt flush good for detox?

I had a similar issue last week and thought I was going to lose two of my girls.

For one of my girls I gave her monistat cream with a syringe and once I did that she was finally able to eat and get her corid water down. She, thankfully, perked back up within a day or two. I continued to give her monistat in her food since she was eating without issues at that point plus her corid water.

My other girl had similar problems, but wasn't drinking enough of her corid water, so we gave her direct dosage of corid once a day (.10ml/lb as recommended by someone else on the forum), plus the monistat cream orally, and had corid water for her to drink throughout the day. We did the direct dosage for 3 days and then she was back to normal!

Hope this helps and your girls make a full recovery!
Thank you

Some use Epsom salts flush to help expel a toxin. It could have been coincidental that she died while taking the flush. Was there a certain mixture that you gave?

Have you checked them over really well for mites/lice? This is best done well after dark. I'm sorry if I missed where this was already covered. I wish you the best.

Edited to add: My apologies. Somehow I completely missed the second page of this thread. Please overlook me 😳

One teaspoon per cup. And we gave 1 ml. Drop by drop to the outside of her beak and she swallowed on her own. No forcing it in. And no syringe in the mouth.

No, Thank you for the reply. We have not seen any mites or lice on her or others.

1tsp Epsom Salts per cup of water does not seem that unreasonable amount for flushing, given the varying recommendations on the internet.
It's commonly used as a one time flush for toxins or for treating crop issues.

Often birds are in bad shape before you see symptoms.

Links show an example of varied amounts for flushing/treating crops.

I'm glad you were able to see a vet, hopefully they improve.
