URGENT~ SOFT SHELLED EGGS AND A LETHARGIC DUCK!!!

Pics
I even started to call the vet back to see if she called her not sure about time zone though? Maybe they called her they probably thought I was crazy. Hi Im calling from MI about a duck owner in your area.I know If I still was working in a clinic I would have called the client. I called a number of folks back when I work at night at a emergency vet even if they didn't bring the animal in. A lot of people don't have the $ for expensive vet bills. Telling them to come in was always the best course of treatment or to end suffering. If they couldn't trying to stabilize or at least do no more harm depending on the situation and hope for the best till they could get to day clinic or shelter was better than nothing at all.

Mara make another thread and tell us about your duck that's having it's wing feathers pulled out. Thanks If your on the east coast she is probably 2 hrs behind us

Oh my gosh you guys!!! Thank you! I'm just got on and saw everything! I am really sorry that I didn't see this earlier!

I didnt know that you called the vet mara1! I will call the vet about the cath first thing tomorrow! Thank you so much. I can't believe you did that for me! I saw all of the comments and replies that you guys made and it is most likely the most help I had in about two weeks now!! I will get the poultry vitamins tomorrow I will probably get them sometime tomorrow morning the nearest feed and supply store is a tractor supply Co. about 48 miles from our house. I gave her about six nightcrawlers in about eight or nine grubs I rolled the worms up in baby food and she got some of that she's been drinking her yogurt water too. She went sleep as soon as I put her in her cage. I can't wait for her to get better and the vet to show me how to give her the vitamins!

I read about you calling my vet all away from MI and started laughing I appreciate it so much, me and Quackers both. The vet you called is the one that gave Quackers all of her antibiotic shots!

I am so happy to hear from you before I got off, how is Quackers this afternoon, evening?

She is sleeping. So I guess she is okay for tonight but you can see when she stands up you can see how thing she is. Are the poultry vitamins fast working? I can't wait until tomorrow!

You are all in my prayers tonight, God bless you all for all if the wonderful support and advice. I knew that you guys would help me like you always do but not go this far! ( adding me and Quackers in your prayers, asking friends for advice on what to do, and even calling a vet from all the way up north!!!). I am at a loss of words right now. I find it truly amazing that none of you even know who I even am but you are still willing to go through so much trouble to help my baby girl get better!

A big fat thank you to all of you!!!

I'm happy you got back on and my messages. I had been reading along with the posts and were doing all that you could and I thought she was getting better. When I seen that wasn't the case and the vet unfortunately had a stroke(hope he recovers) I figured It wouldn't hurt to try and get you some local help. Keep her warm, dry and as hydrated as you can.

I may not be the only forum member who knows what it is like to have a duck with a serious illness. I suspect we have all been in situations similar to yours, and one reason I post on the forum is to try to pass along the care that I have been given by others.
