URGENT~ SOFT SHELLED EGGS AND A LETHARGIC DUCK!!!

Pics
I talked to the clinic an they said they talked to Dr. T and to give her antibiotic in pill form... That's bad enough but to give it to her 2 times a day for 2 weeks :(
And an anti-inflammatory liquid to give oraly. And the said to make a mash out of her food and give 30 ml of that 4 times a day.
I have no idea how I'm gonna get ALL of these different things down her throat everyday. But I am happy that they have a plan. Hopefully she will get better on this.

God help me!

I think it's Miss Lydia who sneaks pills into a tiny wad of white bread for her duck. Maybe that would work. You could also maybe crush the pill and put it in a little of the mash.

Sounds like a lot of work, but as you wrote, at least there is a plan from the vets.

And I think you will be helped.

Will she eat bread? reason asking when I was giving my drake some meds. I would take a small piece of bread put the tablet inside the bread and mash the bread around the pill. He had no idea there was meds inside the bread he ate it right out of my hand. If she won't take bread then crush the antibiotic up real fine and add to her mashed feed. Also put the anti inflammatory in with the mashed food.

x2 did they show you how to tube feed that would be the easiest to get those amounts down then you could sneak the meds in.

Giving pills to poultry is easy, way easier than cats, dogs or horses, just restrain bird, open beak, insert pill at back of throat and massage into crop.

I would recommend reading the first definition on that link in post 296 and stopping there. Gets rather coarse after the second definition.

Yes, sorry about that, I only read the first one, lol, the others are not family friendly. Again, my apologies.
