Urgent! Suspect organism or nothing to worry about?

We're dispatching a couple of our 14 week old orpington cockerels and noticed this on/under and around new growth as we had plucked. There was no movement from the suspect "thing".

Can anyone please shine a light as soon as possible? Can we consume the birds are is it best to avoid?

Did the birds have a lot of pin/blood feathers? That may be what's left of plucked blood feathers. If so - no problem.

I don't think you need to worry about avoiding eating them.

It definitely looks like feather follicles that died maybe? Didn't grow into feathers.

It's normal. It is part of the bird and is found wherever there are pin feathers or growing feathers. It is not some foreign organism.
