URGENT

Not sure if that protrusion will dry up or not.
For now cut the junk off at red line, then as 'cord' dries up and goes black trim it further.
Don't want to cut too close too soon in case it still has live blood in it.

It happens sometimes...have had a few in hatches with other perfectly fine chicks.
Could be genetics, parents nutrition, hot/cold spots in bator, pure fluke.
 
What aart said. I had one that took a few days but all healed up just fine.. Looked just like that. Keep an eye on it if you have it with the others. They may peck at it. You may have to separate it until it heals. Good luck..

ok thank you so much!! I hope he does well. I moved him into a brooder with 1 other chick (that is perfectly healthy) and they are getting along fine and he’s drinking the water! Is there anything else that I can put on him to help it heal?
