Vegiecanner: I am sorry to hear that ): Thankfully I found an egg in her litter, so I know now that it is not egg binding. I also felt around for out-of-place eggs in her body, but found none. I am guessing (with absolutely no experience) that the hernia was from the stress of being held in an awkward position with no escape. I am hoping that now that it has receded it will not get infected, but only time will tell. She is preening and doing relatively well at the moment, albeit she is rather sluggish and puffed up. I soaked her foot in salt water, cleaned it, and dressed it in neosporin, but the stupid bandage will not stay on. I am hoping the swelling will go down.
USAmma: Her vent area is looking much better and has gotten lighter in color, almost a blue/gray, but if it does not return completely normal by morning I may very well put her down, because I cannot afford a vet visit ): It is the area all around her vent in a 3/4 inch radius that is discolored. The vent line itself is now pink. I will see if I can get a better picture. Thank you very much for the information.
