Hi, I’ve posted a couple of times about my call duck egg
We’re now on day 30
After candling I didn’t see any movement and presume it had died
Today I have opened air cell
I could see membranes and see they looked quite tight around the duck, I presumed he had suffocated
Removed some of the membranes and the duck moved
But the problem is he’s upside down
I can see his bum (bottom of yolk sac) and back of legs
I had abit of bleeding from membranes so put him back in incubator wrapped in warm wet cotton wool to keep him wet and keep humidty up
Now I’ve no idea what to do
I don’t know how he will get out of egg if he’s so tightly upside down?
The air sac is now fully open and so is some membranes so technically he could push himself out
But can ducks get out of eggs backwards?
Please help
I feel like I’m running out of time to help now and might have made it worse by opening egg
With it being 4 days late and no movement I thought it had did.

It's hard to see in your pic. Put some coconut oil on the membrane and wait for the veins and yolk to absorb. There's not much you can do until it finishes absorbing. I think he will definitely need assistance, he won't be able to get out on his own.

So when do I help?
I’ve no idea what I’m waiting for
With him being 4 days over and not being able to hatch I thought I should help it now
But with it bleeding slightly it clearly is too early or not ready but he’s upside down so worried if I don’t help he will suffocate anyway

If there is any blood he's not ready. You need to wait until there is no yolk or blood. Even though he's overdue it doesn't mean he's ready. I think your temp was too low or he was in a cool spot which made him develop slower.

Can he still survive now I’ve opened the air sac?
And some of the membranes have been opened?
He’s still firmly upside down though which is my main concern?
How will be hatch out? X

Hi....just checked him again left him alone for 4 hours to dry off abit
He’s deffo dead in there
No movement at all...I’m not sure if he was stuck in the egg for a while or if me messing with it has killed it....I’m absolutely gutted
