There you go.Sorry your poor girl has this issue. I've never seen a Uropygial gland look like that.
One of my roosters had a problem with his last year. It was very swollen & the skin was red. I put him on my lap, comfortable on a towel, cleaned & disinfected the area with Betadine, removed feathers in that area, then soaked a washcloth in warm water with Betadine & held it there, dunking it again to keep the warm compress on the area about 10 minutes. (Roo practically fell asleepon my lap). Then I gently applied some pressure further away around the gland, but working my fingers & light pressure towards it. (Milking the glad to get things flowing again)
It was The nastiest mustard color, thick, cheese like looking stuff that came out! I had to do this 1 to 2x a day, plus I gave him penicillin. The color of the stuff coming out gradually got lighter to a pale yellow, and more liquid, less & less thick or paste-like. By the 10th day it was a proper oil like substance coming from the gland & he was no longer swollen or red. I really don't know why this happened to him, as it seemed more like a clogged gland that got infected, there were no peck wounds.
It may be that your Hen's gland got clogged & she was trying to unclog it herself...because it does look pecked by someone.
Penicillin can be injected instead of put in drinking water, since you can't really separate her from chick. Sorry this happened, good luck.
