US Farmers Using Less Fertilizer

Less fertilizer used means there is less excess WASTED fertilizer washed down streams and rivers to the oceans. Some people used to use more of it on plants thinking that more = bigger yeild. Heck humans are like that on everything. If some is good more must be better.

Just because you put the fertizer down doesn't mean the plants are going to use it before it's washed away.

I think it is really good news.

I like Mother Earth News for some of it's content but they are not the Bible where agriculture is concerned......they have their own agenda and they know what sells magazines.

I still think it is the over processed food that the great majority of people buy in the grocery store that is causing the decline in nutrients......not the raw food product that we grow.

As far as more calories being consumed to me it is ludicrous to try and blame that on modern agriculture......couch potatoes eating too many calories creates the problem not the food itself.
