USDA Three More Public Meetings on Animal Identification*******

Let ME be CRYSTAL CLEAR. I believe that you should be able to do JUST THAT. Do you know that Daniel Boone moved to the new state of Kentucky, and, although his nearest neighbors were 100's of miles away, he STILL thought he didn't live far enough away to be harassed by civilization?
I'd LOVE to drop off of the radar map, and just ship and email to the rest of America. I've had it with unnecessary laws and unnecessary fees. But, don't be frightened. We need to be stubborn and energized. You should be aware that their is a undercurrent of seathing Americans who are tired of all of the laws that make us criminals by doing things like raising our own livestock, without intereference, just like what our grandparents did. The people trying to regulate everything are doing this for financial profit and political power. They do not have our best interests at heart, and lots of Americans have had it with this.
Just stay on our side.

It is just another thing to allow big agri business to continue to treat animals badly while keeping competition from small producers at bay.

Just curious, but can they do the same for every tomato too? Spinach?

How many people have gotten sick/died from those products being contaminated?

Large scale producers, ones that provide a product that is supposedly safe... where consumers trust their (and the agency inspecting's) word for it... yeah, THEY need oversight. But, if you grow your own (even sell from home) and can test, see for yourself that your food is safe there is no reason for you to have to pay boodles just to eat what you grow on your own land... be that veggies or chicks.

I agree with the others. When/If an animal enters the food chain THEN tag it. Show where it came from, where it's going, and test for disease at that point. So you know, when it enters the chain, that it is clean. Testing it when it is young isn't going to tell you squat about the health of the animal months later... well unless positive... but if you take a negative result from back then and assume... well, we all know what happens when you assume.

If they really wanted to help decrease the bacteria/viral illnesses that hurt people they'd make the processors, etc clean up their acts. But, those guys donate huge sums to keep the status quo... and talk them into running their (smaller) competition out for them by passing laws that make it impossible for the little guy to afford the licensing. So... more business for the big guy, more animals contaminated along the way via their shoddy practices, more people sick, but hey more 'donations' in their pockets...

Y'all ever see Batman...

"And now, folks, it's time for "Who do you trust!" Hubba, hubba, hubba! Money, money, money! Who do you trust? Me? I'm giving away free money."

'Cept rather than poisoning the crowd that greed keeps in place with obvious gas... they just do it slowly through our food and by corrupting our entire government. *sigh* At least the Joker was honest about being a ruthless crook.
