USE DECEMBER-21-2010 FOR TIMER - To give 14 hours of light = MORE EGGS

For those who want to give their hens 14 hours of light every day during winter, go to the following URL and choose your state:

Once you have chosen your state, choose the closest city to you. Then choose the month DECEMBER.
From the calendar copy the shortest day of the year (Winter Solstice), DECEMBER 21, 1910. Using the shortest day of the year, in the fall, I will only have to set my timer once; that will take care of all winter until spring when it's not needed.
For Greenwood, Indiana, December 21, 2010, using CIVIL TWILIGHT and DST, I get the following:
Twi: 7:30am
Sunrise: 8:01am
Sunset: 5:23pm
Twi: 5:53pm
Moonrise: 5:56pm
Moonset: 8:18am
Full Moon: 3:14am
Rounding off to 8:00 A.M. - 5:30 P.M. I will only be getting 9 1/2 hours of light, so I need to add 4 1/2 hours of light to the end of the day (10:00 P.M.) or wake them earlier, say 7:00 A.M.; that's what I'll do. Therefore, my timer will be set to turn on the light at 7:00 A.M. and off at 9:00 P.M. (14 hours of light).
