Used nesting boxes - Yes or No?

:frow
Got some old nesting boxes from my step-dad. They have been sitting unused for at least 5 years. They are made of 1-1/4" plywood and, yes, they need a good cleaning. Hubby & I are debating whether it is worth my effort to clean them 🪣 - or does he just build new ones out of new lumber 🪵?

If I do clean them, suggestions on with what & do I treat them with anything? They've been through 2 good rainstorms so most of the 💩 is gone.

Thank you & happy farming 🐮 or egging 🐣
