This was a while back. The problem was nobody was looking at your profile. Your username is generic so they just assumed you were a girl.

Wait wait wait. People read profiles?

Another one that really shocked me was @aart.
I thought she was a he. But then she said she is a she.

Well *I didn’t* until “now”…. Honestly it didn’t actually have a gender associated in my head… many, many user ID’s are neutered in my head…. A-lah-*TRON*-style thinking.

I had been concerned that if I changed my name, nobody would know me. But Brooks! would probably be safe.
