Id be interested if you ever took pics of your playhouse coop! I have a plastic playhouse for my kids right now that I'm always looking at sideways thinking "in 3 years when they get sick of this, I wonder what my options are..." Looks like it might be similar to yours!

Here you go. Very basic. hardware cloth on almost all the windows and door except ran out and used double chicken wire on the last window. Works great. Lock on door at the bottom to lock them in the coop at night. One long tree branch inside for roosting bar, as well as another roosting bar ladder that leans against the right side. 2 nesting boxes on the left.
House is on cinderblocks; then a reused wooden pallet; then a square piece of wood.
BTW, this playhouse is almost 20 yrs old!!

Oh awesome!! Thank you! Mine is a different model, and pretty dang old as well. I got it second hand and the kids, of course, took it over before I could use it for anything chicken related. I thought the no floor was an issue, but I love how yours is raised with the wood floor underneath! Perfect easy solution.
The other issues with mine are the 2 "bay windows" - I wasn't really sure where I could attach the hardware cloth but I guess if I didn't care about losing that extra space on the "window sill", I could do exactly what you did.
And also, it would be kind of drafty. (The picture of the windows shows the amount of space that's still there when they're closed.) I guess I could simply duct tape the windows and door shut at all the seams for the winter if I wanted to go the easy way, but I'll still have to cut wood to fit in the bay windows and the window that's in the door. Unless I can think of another solution. Do you have harsh winters where you are?
Anyway, thanks so much for humoring me! And letting me hijack your thread. The is a project a few years away for me, but I'll get to it eventually! I love seeing other peoples ideas!

You could make your nesting boxes to fit in the bay window (may have to cut the plastic in between those 3 smaller windows to do it, but it would be a space saver). I would have done that to mine if I had realized how much space the nesting boxes would take up inside the coop.

Pretty cold winters here with some snow but doesn't really hang out around 0 degrees too often. Typical is the 20-40 degree range with a few storms. The chickens all did fine except the white leghorns that have longer/bigger red combs. They got a little frostbite at the very tips of their combs.

Overall I love the coop and it really still looks just like a playhouse from a distance! Good luck!
