I added a fan to my still air incubator and it worked great. The only thing is it is fairly good at moving air, so I turned it off at the first sign of a pip (and then had to adjust the temps for a still air). I was worried it would dry out the membranes too much. The dimmer switch is a great idea though.
I haven't mounted the fan yet, I just had it sitting on the wire rack with the eggs. I never had it blowing directly on the eggs though.
