Using barn lime

We use barn lime for our horse shed and that is the first place the chickens will go for a dust bath. They love it. I have, on occasion, sprinkled into the coop for a little extra refresher. Would not use in a brooder. Deep litter method worked for my brooder. Cleaned it every few days. Very minimal stink. 🤷‍♀️

Thank you

I use one of those tubs as a brooder box myself, when I'm incubating. I line it with a cheap towel, replace the towel each day. At the end of the week, the towels all go in the wash. Problem solved.
We use a big 40 gallon tote. It makes sense with the towels. Thanks

I'm one size down - 27 gallon. I have to fold the towel on two edges - which helps keep them from getting stuck behind the heat plate.

win/win
