Use the DE with the pine shavings in the coop (doesn't take much). Have used it for years for periodically dusting the areas where the dogs run to minimize the tick/flea population with good results. Tried it mixed with the chicken feed...alternate periodically with cayenne pepper in the feed pellets. Interestingly, when some is spilled into a small pile, the girls get right after it and eat it up. I was surprised to see that.
