Using Dog hair for nesting??

Okay, it was just a thought. His undercoat is so soft and warm, I thought it might be nice for them. Oh, well...

Here is a better thought for dog fur. If obtained after grooming meaning wash and dry then can send to a weaver for a nominal fee that can spin it for you into yarn then you can use the yarn to knit a hat or scarf for self. They do this in Alaska and it is very soft. Softer than cashmere. :)

Was considering using hair from my 2 standard size poodles after grooming. Found another 2011 post here that mentioned chickens possibly eating it and then having to pull it out of the butt when it gets stuck. I’ve had to do that with the dogs before and I’m sure doing it on a chicken is even far less fun. My 2 pups have enough hair cut off after grooming I would probably have enough to line 15 laying boxes. Oh well, it would have otherwise been a decent use for repurposed materials

IDK about hair for nesting material, but,I have a Brahma that insists on pooping on any long haired person that arrive at our farm.
It's become quite embarrassing,really. Tedious.
Especially because EVERYONE wants to enter his pen to get a closer look at him due to his size. He hones in on the long hair and goes batty. He's athletic and one leap and he's on your head and as expected he's heavy.Hats don't fool him either,he's too smart. He can balance on anything:baseball caps;beret's, even those big floppys.
My wife calls him Sniper because he doesn't miss.
