Using fleece outside?

I used grass hay. We can get to -16° F here and no one suffered with mites, fleas or frostbite. They made tunnels.

FWIW, I had 14 bunnies each in its own 3'x4'x3' hutch. I had them well over 7 years before giving them to a friend in the country.

Were your guinea pigs litter trained? Also I see what you mean about it freezing if the rabbit has an accident in the winter. What if I have a washable pee pad underneath the fleece in summer when its 85 degrees every day. Would it be cooler than straw/hay?

yes they had a corner litter pan. But they would still pee in random places. I put puppy pads under the fleece.
I doubt itd be cooler in summer, probably warmer and summer is when they need coolness as they can over heat.
