Flexseal sounds like a good idea. We'll be on the Oregon coast when we start setting up the coop(s) so rain will be an issue.

It says can be used to seal aquariums and animal and food safe.
My concern would not be with the product being safe for chickens to be around it. My concern is if they pecked at the walls and were able to eat any of it. I'm not sure its safe if eaten. Do chickens usually peck at wood walls?
I have used the black flex seal on a metal flower tub and it's like a thin coating of rubber. Works great. I would use the clear on the coop.
Here it is at Lowe's

THAT's a great idea!Not sure anyone's used it here...
...except did see someone used the tape for flexible seal over an exterior nest lid hinge.
Bummer, was the wood(?) floor new when you applied the flex seal?I painted the flooring with the white flex seal and my chickens are pecking at it and eating it. Not sure what to even do about this...
Mine did not have a strong smell. I would worry more about dry time if the chickens can get too it. If they can't then the 2 hours should be long enough. For those of you who have used it, how long would you say the vapors and smell lingers? I need to spray a leak inside the coop today so I'll lock the chickens in the run. But it's cold and crappy here so they aren't going to be happy with me leaving them out very long. Is 2 hours enough to air it out with door and windows open?
