Does this product work for mites? I have heard that it ends up in the eggs, but I can't find anything that says what fipronil does to humans.

I have been using permethrin dust but it does not seem to be working to well. I wanted something that I can treat once and be done.

Are you cleaning out the housing/nesting boxes, etc. and treating that as well?
Mites for the most part live inside the coop, coming out at night to feed on the birds so eliminating them from the coop is going to be a major part of an effective treatment plan.

Dusting with Permethrin can also help. Topical treatment like Ivermectin can also help, but in order for it to kill the mites, the parasite still have to feed on the bird, so your hens will still be bitten.

The mites are on the birds. Cleaning is difficult right now with the 2 degree weather, so I wanted something that was a one time use and not liquid. I have been using premethrin dust every three days and the mites just seem to move around.

Can you get a picture of the mites? Mites are in the bedding and the coop. You would need to clean and treat everything. At minium replace the bedding and sweep everything out. Then put up sticky tape underside of the roosts. That will catch some for identification and those that leave the bird to return to feed on them at night.

I believe you should treat with Ivermectin on a 3 week cycle 1 on, 1 off, 1 on. Use the Permethrin dust as recommended.

Northern Fowl mites. I have treated with frontline, I'll see what happens. I have tried giving oral Ivermectin before and it did nothing for mites. I won't be using liquid because of the temperatures.
