Using Incubator to Finish Hatch - Help Greatly Appreciated!

Our khaki campbell female was faithfully laying on her eggs however towards the last couple of days she was no longer interested in laying. Unfortunately, we only have one viable egg left. I bought an incubator yesterday (on day 28) and put the egg inside. I have the temperature at 98.5 with about 70 percent humidity. There have been no sign of pipping yet. I'm wondering if it will be hatched late. I am scared to death about having humidity that is too high or too low. And I don't know how long to keep trying to hatch the egg. Any recommendations?

Temperature needs to be 99.5 in a forced air.

Candle it and check for movement and internal pip. Sometimes at this stage they will talk to you. It may take an extra day.

Hello - thank you for the reply! I thought the egg was supposed to be on lockdown at this point. Is it okay to open the incubator to candle it if I get it right back in? No signs of pipping at this point.

We are on day 36 with the egg we put in the incubator after our female quit laying. No sign of external pipping. It looked like it was moving into the air sac but it didn't look like a beak - more like its body pressing up against the air sac. That was a couple days ago - no progress since. It was moving when I candled it a few days ago and I could see blood vessels. I candled it again this morning but couldn't identify any moving and couldn't see any blood vessels. See attached pictures. Do you think there is any hope for this baby?
