Well, he said he will tear it down in the Spring and give us what he doesn't take. So now the waiting begins! He wants some of the 2x4s but isn't interested in the rest.

who is tearing it down? Well you better keep an eye on this person if you don't know them? or is it the neighbor?

I would go over there and tell whoever is taking it down what you are looking for to use. that way they can set it aside. If they don't know what you are looking for they might take all the stuff you need.

I take down old barns that are about to be burnt. most people are helpful if you tell them what you are looking for.

I would make a feed despencer out of it or put suspenders on it and wear it...but thats just me.

I have the same siding...<-----over there. It's on my Great Granparents old homestead house here. I can't bring myself to tear it down. This one was boarded up about 30 years ago and the foundation was poured solid concrete. I want to make a rough cabin there now. It's in better shape but has it's issues. I plan to reuse as much of it as I can. If I can't make it whole again. Those are good timbers.
