Please help in our first attempt at incubating with a broodie.
here are where we are stuck:
-The nest boxes in our coup are too high. If the babies hatch they’ll jump down snd die.
- if we set up a nest box in a different location than she’s used to (another building) will she adopt those eggs and set on them or will she be so upset we moved her that she will ignore them or worse, damage them?
-she’s been broody for about a week. How long do we have to collect eggs?
She’d be a fury time mother. thanks for any help.

she will settle wherever her eggs are. Put her in a box she cannot get out of and that will fix her on the eggs. Lift her off once a day for 30 minutes to poop, eat and drink. Then move her with the chicks when they hatch to wherever you are going to keep her, back with the flock if you wish. She will protect those babies.
