Using Sand for Run Floor

The delivery charge is usually the killer. Washed sand is $35/ cu yd at my nearest landscape supply. Delivering it 20 miles will add $100 whether it is 1 yd or 5.

But my son-in-law works there, and has been known to do us a favor or two.

Nice. And I bet your gas prices are still under $4/gal, too. I paid $4.31/gal here today. If I haul my own sand, it will take about $17 in gas per trip (old pickup gets 10 MPG). I can haul 1/2 yd per trip. It gets expensive.

I actually just bought a few bags of sand for my run today. The girls love it! It only covered the 1/2 the run about 1/8" deep, but I'm totally going to buy more. I wish I would have done that from the beginning.

I did find one place that has it for $27, but it's too far out the way.
