Using straw and poop from the coop

I am very new to this and am just reading some posts. Some state that with the DLM using shavings, it can be a mulch, but the shavings can't go into the garden and be rototilled. Is that the same with straw? Can it go into the compost pile?

All my shavings and straw go into the garden and get tilled under. I pile it on during winter and til it under in Spring. During the summer when there are plants growing in the garden it all gets thrown onto the compost pile, because fresh manure will burn plants.

* First, I have to ask what DLM is-- that's a new one to me. Second, yes-- your straw clean-outs can go onto the compost pile.
