Using themometer with probe - which temp do I look at?

I looked at your website just now - your Millie is so pretty! I can't wait for mine to grow up. They are three weeks old now and I think I have three pegged as roosters. One for sure. They are just sooooo sweet!

Awww... thanks! You'll know by 5-6 weeks if you have a roo. They don't get their "flowers" until a little later. We called ours "squeaky toy" for a while, because his new crows sounded just like a dog's toy... EEE - er EEE - er...

He's at 19 weeks now, and going to be a daddy soon.

The two girls are both brooding, and there are 3 eggs that are growing nicely.

Ahhh you will have to post pics of them. We got our D'Uccles because it was the only day old chicks we could find when only one of my incubated ones survived. So a fluke has turned into a new love. They are pouting today because it has been pouring rain and I won't let them out of their cage and they want to fly. I might have to go rearrange the coop so they can at least fly around it without escaping...

How old are your girls?

My girls are 2 years old. They were in the first group of chicks we started with in 2006, and I just got lucky that I had two girls. I didn't want roos back then. Little Tyson was also lucky... there was a big horse-trough full of chicks at the farm, probably 50 of them, to choose from, and he was the ONLY Millie in there. I looked at my husband and said "What are the chances this one is a little boy?"

Now I'm hatching my own, and I'm ecstatic! Of course, with both girls broody, I can't share the eggs with anyone else right now.

And you just reminded me that I need to add pictures of Tyson!! Thank you!

Here are 6 of the 9 I have and the "jungle gym" my husband created for them - I just took this picture and then they all escaped - but it hasn't rained in a couple of hours and the ground is mostly sand, dirt and some trumpet vines in the area where they are at - so I think they will be fine.

This is their fearless leader - "Bubby" my EE that started my D'Uccle collection. He thinks he is really a parrot and often sits on my shoulder for "rides" or hides on the back of my neck in my hair - funny guy!

LOL speckledhen, I was going to say the same thing since I was informed on the other thread about my humidty

My whole unit is now in my bator

Yes I did know that and the entire unit is inside the bator. I only wish our house had 29% humidity...
Unfortunately we have a water "issue" in our basement so it is a little damper than that.
