USPS embargo on live animals (chicks) through Feb 26, 2021!

Why not both? That's what this year did to me. Just hatched 10, 10 more eggs from today already in the incubator, will check for more to add in an hour, and more than 8 dozen eggs to neighbors in the past week. Plus eggs for my wife and I.

Waiting on NPIP certification and a limited license for eggs/poultry for consumption
That’s wonderful! We need more people like you 🥰

Kind of you to say so, actually I make a terrible human being - I'm building a client base familiar with the product I'm offering, and have explicitly told them so.

Best that can be said is that I'm honest about it.

Good shipping news. I got 20 chicks shipped to CA from MS Today. Arrived in 36 hrs, all in good shape. The small hatchery, Bressefarms was great with communication and were truly concerned for the welfare of the chicks. Figure they deserve a positive review since everyone complains when things are not as they should be.

Neither company ships live animals, only USPS. Politics struck the postal service big time last year, and maybe complaining to our representatives will help.
Mary
I get my live meal worms through UPS all the time after my first shipment with USPS managed to lose my worms, for me they sure make an effort to lose my shipments all the time it seems. UPS AND FEDEX does ship animals, price will be higher. Sorry for my rant on USPS. They still stink.

I checked out the Bressefarms website and the Blue and Splash ones intrigue me. I need to clean the dust off my chicken match calculator as my current flock of 43 birds may not be enough.

A bit off topic, but have you ordered from them before? I've considered them bit wasn't sure about quality

The 20 blue, black and splash Bresse chicks I just got are too young to say anything yet. The few white Bresse I have raised have impressed with growth rate, calm temperament and really nice structure. Saving one white roo to compare to these guys as they grow. I am hoping that the other colors are of similar quality and will provide a little deeper gene pool for maintaining a meat flock. Figure If I have to outcross why not to a different color of Bresse as opposed to other dual purpose breed.
