USPS scrambled eggs with pics.

This is my contribution towards empathizing with the OP. lol

This is how my eggs arrived, they were in a plastic garbage bag that had been taped up, I am sure by the PO to try and keep the smell inside. There were four dozen eggs of multiple breeds.

In our case the seller had decided to "try a different packing method" which consisted of putting the eggs in cartons and sprinkling shredded paper on top of them and a layer of bubble wrap.

It was a mess. And yes, I did get a refund.

I forgot the shredded paper was around the cartons and not on the eggs. They were loose with just a layer of bubble wrap.

I was so excited about those eggs, too!

I called my post office the day before the eggs were to arrive and told them to hold the package there. I did find a hairline crack in one of my eggs a few days ago when I candled them. My 14 eggs arrived in good shape except for that one... that may have happened before the trip. Sorry to see this happened to you.

I do swear that if you write fragile on it, it turns into a soccer ball.

Day 22 and only the one so far. Only one other unzipping but has slowed way down. We named this one Ranger, as in lone, but I sure hope at least one more will hatch.

Plan is to find someone close with a recent hatch to take him if possible. He will be miserable all alone.

I would guess they were at least a few weeks old when they were shipped and then it took them 3 days to get here and YES it was really hot outside. Because they were extremely stinky!

We had a new mail carrier too and he had them in a plastic bag and sat them on our back porch in 90+ degree weather. So they were outside for the day while I was at work. Not that it would have mattered because they were smashed beyond hope, old and rotten!

Here is the box. You can see the condensation in there from the hot, rancid eggs!

The saturated with rotten egg juice box!

The eggs were in an egg carton (not wrapped individually) and then there was a layer of bubble wrap below & on top. The sides had some paper shoved in for decoration? LOL That's it.

Wow, Rare Feathers. What a mess.

We added a little stuffed bear to the brooder for Ranger so he would not get so lonely ewaiting for his sister to hatch(fingers crossed)

I see you had almost 50 eggs. how did they develop? Did you have a lot of clears, blood rings, etc? How many made to lock down? If you mentioned already, I'm sorry, I must have missed it.

btw, I've been shipping eggs all over the US for about 3 years now and this is how I send them........

Never had a complaint about the egg condition and usually have better than average hatch rates.

The PO can be exceedingly rough on the eggs, but a poor packaging job will almost guarantee the eggs to be smashed upon arrival.
