USPS Workers out there???

Ok, I'm going to try to send the little whipper snappers out today. The ones going to Alaska finished hatching this morning.

I have some double back tape that I have put around the insides of the box and am going to stick chick start on it. I am also going to put a quarter piece of cucumber in there for moisture.

Lord, bless my little chickies, keep them warm and safe and most of all get them to their destination quickly.....

All is well in the world of my chickies.

The shipment to Alaska, which was supposed to take two days, made it in one day and we lost one little buff chick, but I sent an extra.

The shipment to New York, which was supposed to take less than 24 hours, made it this morning and all chicks are alive and well.

I am so relieved that all but one made it.

Next time a set a batch of eggs, I will make sure to set them a day later since they all seemed to hatch a day early. I can always ship on Tuesday.

It's awesome that the ones to Alaska got there so quickly!!! Sorry about losing the buff. :-(

How long did the one to NY take overall? If you sent it Express and it took longer than guranteed, def. talk to them as they have to refund the $ for the express shipping.

It took an extra day to get to NY. They said the chicks got diverted down to San Diego for some odd reason. She thought it was because there was dry ice on the plane.

I asked well, why didn't they take the dry ice off as I think live chicks take priority......

Eeek. Yeah, I agree. On the bright side...it's good they didn't ship the chicks and dry ice at the same time b/c that could have been very bad.
